LEWISBURG – The Bucknell University Small Business Development Center has reason to celebrate on this National SBDC Day. It’s been more than 40 years since the center has been helping businesses get off the ground and grow. Director Steve Stumbris says each year the more than 1000 centers across the nation observe this day to raise awareness.
“An SBDC can help them start their business and that if you’re already are running a business, a SBDC is a source of information and advising for you,” he said.
The Bucknell SBDC has helped jump start 40 businesses in the past year and Stumbris says despite the pandemic, growth in small business has gone up 25% in each of the past two years, “This surprised me, my team, and probably everyone in the country that the pandemic was actually the time when a lot of people kickstarted something new.
