Allenwood Inmate Found Unresponsive in His Cell

ALLENWOOD – An Allenwood inmate died at the USP Allenwood Medium Security Campus Friday.

Prison officials say 56-year-old Tulio Lopez was found unresponsive in his cell at 12:40pm where responding staff uninitiated life-saving measures. After he was taken to the hospital, Lopez was pronounced dead by hospital staff. No other inmate or staff was injured. Cause of death unknown. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was also notified.

Prison officials say Lopez was serving a 120-month sentence at the time of his passing for Conspiracy to Distribute and Possess with Intent to Distribute Cocaine and Conspiracy to Import Cocaine. He had been serving his sentence since August 2021.
