Good Samaritan Mission Asks for Volunteers to Help More Families

Community Nonprofit Continues to Thrive After Robbery

DANVILLE – A burglary leaves a local community nonprofit, Good Samaritan Mission in a vulnerable state after being burgled last week. While some of the money stolen was recovered through community efforts, security is now a pressing issue.

“Our unmet needs after the break-in are the security system that we need to have in place. We had a couple companies come in and talk with us about options and it is about $3,500 for what we would need there. That is our greatest need right now,” said Carin Wharton, Executive Director of the Good Samaritan Mission.

She says they are always accepting donations, but are in desperate need of volunteers to help Tuesdays-Thursdays 12:00pm-2:00pm in order to reach more families to help. Through all the hard times, Wharton happily announces the number of people helped through this outreach program.
