Danville Juvenile Correction Center Receives Abuse Accusations
DANVILLE – State police say they have been two complaints lately about a juvenile detention facility in The Valley.
Troopers say the North Central Secure Treatment Unit was named in two recent ‘ChildLine’ reports. The reports alleged physical abuse of juveniles who were in the care and custody of the unit. One report was filed on November 6 and the other on December 14.
Authorities say the facility is a juvenile corrections center housing approximately 115 male and female inmates who are awaiting court action or are serving a sentence. They say inmate range in ages from 13 to 20 years. The facility in Mahoning Township, Montour County does not comment on pending investigations.
