Remember These Safe Driving Tips When Traveling Over the Holidays

SELINSGROVE– Remember to follow safe driving habits while traveling this holiday season. From refraining from adjusting the radio to never driving impaired, safe driving tips could be key to a successful holiday celebration. Community Traffic Coordinator, Mike Diehl wants to remind folks about the dangers of driving distracted.

“Check your local road conditions prior to your trip. Adjust all your vehicle settings prior to leaving…adjusting radios and climate are distractions in the vehicle and we want to make sure you are focused especially with the increase in traffic,” he said.

Diehl says, “People are gonna be out driving around and we want to make sure people are safe while they are driving during this time period. One of the things that are going on during that time is the Operation Safe Holiday… that’s geared toward impaired driving. There will be additionally officers out…looking for people who might be under the influence.”
