FCFP Celebrates 105th Anniversary
WILLIAMSPORT – Some people in area communities will receive a surprise treat…The First Community Foundation of Pennsylvania is distributing gift cards totaling $5,000 to mark their 105th anniversary. The cards will be given out randomly to individuals in Snyder, Union, Northumberland, Montour and Lycoming counties.
They say the goal of the gifts cards is to make recipients’ holidays brighter. The foundation is asking that recipients use the cards, and with some of the windfall, “pay it forward” by buying someone a winter coat, groceries, donating toys to a local toy drive, or contributing to a local nonprofit.
In honor of the anniversary, the First Community Foundation Partnership building in downtown Williamsport, known as the Philanthropy Center, is decorated with lights, a balloon cake, and sweet treats.
The foundation serves all of the middle Susquehanna Valley and a spokeswoman says they “work to improve the quality of life in central and northcentral Pennsylvania through community leadership, the promotion of philanthropy, the strengthening of nonprofit impact, and the perpetual stewardship of charitable assets.” More info at www.fcfpartnership.org
