SHAMOKIN – In Shamokin, a train rain into an unoccupied car Thursday. It happened over the noon hour along East Independence Street. The car was parked when the North Shore Railroad locomotive hit the vehicle which was parked too close to the tracks. The incident happened about 12:30pm, the train was only going a few miles per hour and stopped shortly after the collision. Again, no one was in the car at the time and no injuries were reported
