Minimum Starting Wage Resolution Approved by Sunbury Council

Mayor Reads Minimum Starting Wage Resolution

SUNBURY- Sunbury city council Monday night locked in the pay rates for city workers, and some folks will get raises. The resolution was approved unanimously.  The resolution calls for a minimum starting wage for non-uniform full and part-time hourly employees.

The minimum starting wage will be $14.50 for all current and future full-time employees and $13.50 for all current and future part-time employees. There are two full-time and 10 part-time employees.  This increase excludes contractual, seasonal, internships, and PA work-study program employees.

The resolution states that increasing the minimum starting wage promotes the health, safety, and welfare of those who work with the City of Sunbury and reflects the cost of living in Sunbury and surrounding communities.
