Police Release Lycoming/Union County Pursuit Details

UPDATE: Montoursville State Police verified spike strip attempts and pit maneuvers during the October 30 pursuit of a vehicle eluding police. Arrested was 31-year-old Alan Seijas of Brunswick, NJ who was jailed in Lycoming County Prison on seven separate charges.

Troopers said a burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Log Run Road in Loyalsock Township around 1 a.m. and a vehicle had fled the scene. State police said a vehicle matching the description was located by Old Lycoming Township police, who then attempted a traffic stop after determining the vehicle had been stolen.

Police said Seijas fled and the pursuit continued into Union County, where Montgomery Police Department deployed spike strips on Route 80. Police said pit maneuvers were attempted several times before the vehicle was stopped and Seijas was taken into custody.

Seijas faces two counts of burglary, two counts of reckless endangerment and further charges of criminal mischief, criminal trespass, fleeing police and receiving stolen property.

UPDATE: Sources indicate spike strip attempts and pit maneuvers, culminating in a motor vehicle accident. State police declined any further comment at this time, as the investigation continues.

 

MONTOURSVILLE – There was a police pursuit in part of The Valley Saturday morning.

State police at Montoursville were in pursuit of a vehicle south on Route 15 and onto Route 80.

It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday according to CSR 911. The emergency service said the chase began in Lycoming County.

State Police were not willing to release further information on the investigation. We are trying to get additional information.  They would not say how the pursuit concluded.
