Funding Announced in US Senate Bill for Some PA Projects

US Senator Casey Ensuring Funding For Central PA Projects

SUNBURY – US Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced the inclusion of $27,406,000 in funding for 11 Central PA projects in the federal governments 2022 Appropriations Bill. Of the projects, the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way and Chesapeake Bay Foundation will receive part of the funding to improve conditions in their communities.

If passed, the Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way will receive $60,000 to support it’s Youth Mental Health Comprehensive Plan while The Chesapeake Bay Foundation will receive $2,184, 000 to improve water quality and reducing sedimentation from agricultural sources.

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation would also receive an additional $1,063,000 to improve water quality and implement it’s Watershed Management Plan for Halfmoon Creek which would address the impairment of it’s stream and aim to make it’s creek healthier.
