Faylor Lake Disc Golf Park Hosts Pro-Am this Weekend

This Weekend is Grand Opening of Faylor Lake Disc Golf Park

BEAVER SPRINGS – The Snyder County Faylor Lake facility is now home to a new disk golf course, and will be home to a major national tournament this week. The Faylor Lake Disc Golf Park in Beaver Springs is hosting its inaugural disc throw and ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday at 2:30 p.m.

Snyder County Commissioner Joe Kantz said the course was designed by PDGA Pro Steve Braud and local disk-golf enthusiast Lee Zimmerman, “Thanks to some wonderful volunteers and help from local residents, they have done an incredible job of creating what I believe will be one of the fastest-growing and most anticipated courses in Pennsylvania.”

Kantz said, “It’s a championship-level, 18-hole course. The views and vibes are second-to-none, with major elevation changes. You can figure about three hours – at the very least – to fully enjoy this great brand-new course.”

Kantz said the park will host the Faylor Lake Fall Classic Pro-Am this Saturday. He said Valley residents can stop by to watch the tournament, which is attracting players from all over Pennsylvania and surrounding states. Kantz said it’s a win for Snyder County, as the players will be bringing more business to the area, “That’s exactly the point to this whole creation of the disc golf course. It’s going to bring people into our area who enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Snyder County, but it also gives something great to Snyder County folks.”

Kantz added that Faylor Lake will host its annual Fossil Dig in the shale pit at the west end of the lake Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can hear his full Sunrise interview on our podcast page or by clicking (HERE).
