LEWISBURG – Route 15 south of Lewisburg was blocked for several hours after a double trailer truck crossed oncoming lanes, went off the highway and crashed. Central Susquehanna Regional 9-1-1 tells us the wreck happened about 5:30am just north of Furnace Road. Both north and southbound lanes were blocked for several hours.
Buffalo Valley Regional Police tell us the driver was Christopher Pollock, his address is not known. Police say he was driving north on Route 15, drifted off the west side of the road, crossed the grass median, crossed the southbound lanes and went off the southbound lanes. The truck sheared a utility pole, bringing down wires, and went on to overturn and hit a garage.
The driver was trapped for a time, was extricated, and flown by Life Flight to Geisinger. UPDATE: Geisinger Danville reports Pollock is in critical condition.
William Cameron Engine Company, Union Township Volunteer Fire Company, Buffalo Valley Regional Police and numerous other responders went to the scene immediately. CSR 9-1-1 says Mifflinburg, Shamokin Dam. Collapse 60 from Shamokin responded to shore up the truck and garage during the rescue. Citizens Electric and Windstream also responded.

From PennDOT: Crash Closes Route 15 NB/SB in Union Township, Union County Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that Route 15 is closed in both directions between Cardinal Street and Furnace Road in Union Township, Union County, due to a vehicle crash with downed utilities. The following detours are in place. Northbound traffic will use Route 11 and Route 147 or Route 304 and 45. Southbound traffic will use Route 45, 2003 (Dreisbach Church Road), and Furnace Road. The roadway is expected to be closed for several hours. Motorists should be alert, slow down and expect travel delays.
