DANVILLE – Major donors are needed before June 1 in order to keep the Montour Preserve open. Bob Stoudt, director of the Montour Area Recreation Commission said the money is needed before June 1 to keep the education center open weekdays.
June 1, Talen Energy Corporation becomes the owner of the 650-acre preserve, taking over from PPL. The recreation commission board voted Monday night to allow Stoudt to try to raise the money in the next 20 days.
He will be speaking at the county commissioner’s meeting today. Preserve lands are still available for public use. If you are interested in contributing, you can contact Stoudt at 570-336-2060. (Ali Stevens)
