Man Burned in Fire in Stable Condition

POINT TOWNSHIP – The man who was injured in a fire that killed two people in Point Township is listed in stable condition.  Michael Filbert was flown to the Lehigh Valley Burn Unit after escaping the fire on Johns Way early Monday morning.  63-year-old Wendy Filbert and 40-year-old Michael J. Filbert were killed in the fire.  The Daily Item reports Wendy Filbert was well known throughout the region for her involvement in the Point Township Fire Department.  Northumberland County Coroner James Kelley said autopsies on the fire victims will be done today.  The cause of the fire is not known.  A state police fire marshal is investigating but the fire is not said to be suspicious.
