Valley Shops Looking Forward to Small Business Saturday

LEWISBURG – Forget about supply-chain issues . . . According to Steve Stumbris, Director of the Bucknell Small Business Development Center, making purchases in our communities helps everyone, “Local sales make a big difference,” Stumbris said. “About $68 of every $100 spent at a small business stays in the local economy – that’s $25 more than when shopping at a big-box chain.”

Small Business Saturday is this weekend and Stumbris says local artisans, antique stores, booksellers and so many other small businesses in the Valley can give you excellent gift ideas this holiday season.

Stumbris added, “I hope everyone out there will be joining me in visiting their favorite downtown retailers, favorite gift shops and favorite clothing stores on Small Business Saturday and throughout the year.”
