HARRISBURG — A Pennsylvania senator is calling for the removal of a top Trump administration official after a deadly federal operation in Minneapolis. Senator John Fetterman says Americans have died and accountability is required.
Fetterman urged Donald Trump to fire Kristi Noem, the head of the Department of Homeland Security, following the fatal shooting of a second protester during immigration enforcement activity in Minneapolis. He says the operation should end immediately, calling it dangerous for civilians and law enforcement.
Sen. Fetterman says he will not block DHS funding ahead of a possible shutdown. Noem is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee on , as other Democrats, including Senator Ruben Gallego and Senator Peter Welch, criticize her handling of the incident.
