Tragedy, Two Killed in a Union County Crash

Two people were killed in a crash in Union Township, Union County Monday. State police say the tragic accident happened at the intersection of Route 304 and Stein Lane. Killed were the driver of a small SUV, 72-year-old Jerry Bower and his passenger 60-year-old Etta Mendler-Bower.

The other driver involved, 19-year-old Remington Lenig, and his passenger, 54-year-old Mark Lenig, both of Middleburg, both had minor injuries. Troopers say the 2:45pm accident happened when Bower pulled out in front of Lenig’s pick-up truck. The county coroner said the Bowers died at the scene of that crash.
