UPDATE: Nebraska Man Dead After I-80 Crash

LEWIS TOWNSHIP, UNION COUNTY – A Nebraska man is dead after a crash along I-80 near  the Union-Clinton County line. Milton state police identify the man as 52-year-old Kenneth Mitchell of Omaha.

Troopers say Mitchell veered off the road, sharply swerved onto the travel lanes, overturned and slid into a guide rail. Troopers say Mitchell was extricated and deceased at the scene.

According to emergency communications, the accident occurred just before 11 a.m. along I-80 west at mile marker 195. The coroner, and crews from Union and Clinton counties were dispatched to the scene.

Central Susquehanna Regional 911 says the right lane opened around 1 p.m. and the rest of the roadway opened around 4 p.m.

PennDOT had closed both lanes of I-80 west at miler marker 212 in Turbot Township, Northumberland County earlier in the day.
