Sunbury Man Gets Prison Sentence on Gun and Drug Charges

MIDDLEBURG – A Sunbury man has been sentenced to state prison on drug and gun charges from an incident in Snyder County. Snyder County District Attorney Mike Piecuch announced Tuesday 22-year-old Maurice Doster was sentenced four to 10 years in state prison. Piecuch tried the case in Snyder County court in September…Doster was later convicted on drug charges and unlawful possession of a firearm by a former felon.

Doster was found in a Snyder County hotel in July 2020 by members of the Pennsylvania State Police Fugitive Task Force. Piecuch says Doster had been paroled from a prior state prison sentence he received following his 2018 conviction in Philadelphia for first-degree felony robbery.

Piecuch says Doster must serve at least four years before becoming eligible to seek parole in this case. Doster also faces an additional period of incarceration from the pending revocation of his state parole from the robbery conviction.
