Sunbury Man Busted for 2022 Snyder County Holdup

PORT TREVORTON — The News Item is reporting… A Sunbury man who was sentenced to two to four years in prison for robbing a Pillow, in Dauphin County, bank, in 2017, has been arrested for a strong-arm robbery of a bank in Port Trevorton in Snyder County in 2022.


22-year-old Jacob Synder is facing felony charges of bank robbery, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property, 5244 S. Susquehanna Trail.  He was arraigned Tuesday in front of Magisterial District Judge Bo Trawitz and remanded to Snyder County Prison in lieu of $250,000 bail.


On March 13, 2022, a confidential informant notified state police that Snyder was responsible for the robbery.  Three days later, state police conducted a search warrant on Snyder’s phone, which showed he was in the area of the bank when the robbery took place.
