Sunbury City Offices Closed Due to Multiple COVID Cases

SUNBURY – Sunbury city offices are closed today after multiple COVID-19 cases were reported. City Administrator Derrick Backer says the city clerk, Mayor, code, treasure’s, and Department of Public Works offices are all closed today – city officials hope to reopen offices Monday, but that will be reevaluated over the weekend.

Backer says the Sunbury Ice Rink and police department are still open.

He didn’t disclose the exact number of COVID cases other than there are multiple. Backer says the building was just cleaned but will likely be cleaned again. He also indicated Mayor Kurt Karlovich would like to discuss COVID polices within city offices at the next city council meeting December 13.
