State Police Credit DUI Patrols For Safer Roads
STONINGTON — State police say New Year’s Eve DUI patrols around here helped keep roads safer across Northumberland County. Troopers conducted sobriety checkpoints and roving DUI patrols Wednesday evening into early Thursday.
According to the state police, they say they contacted 51 motorists during the enforcement effort. Police report zero DUI arrests, 6 traffic citations, 1 criminal citation, and 41 warnings issued during the operation.
Authorities say the patrols focused on impaired driving, speeding, seatbelt use, and license violations. State police remind drivers to never drink and drive, buckle up, slow down, and help keep Pennsylvania roadways safe for everyone.
