SELINSGROVE – The Susquehanna University Symphony Orchestra is looking for local musicians to join in a concert to benefit humanitarian efforts in Ukraine.
Susquehanna says it’s hosting ‘Gather at the Gate: A Concert for Peace and Freedom in Ukraine’ Saturday, April 30. The concert will be in the Stretansky Concert Hall in the Cunningham Center for Music and Art at 7pm.
Registered orchestra musicians (bass, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, harp, oboe, percussion, trombone, trumpet, tuba, viola and violin) of all ages who are interested should come to the Stretansky Concert Hall at 5:30 p.m. for a brief rehearsal. The orchestra is under the direction of Jordan Randall Smith, visiting assistant professor of music.
A collection will also be taken to benefit the Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, which is supporting those fleeing Russia’s invasion.
