Point Township Man Convicted of Animal Cruelty Appealing

The Daily Item reports a Point Township man is appealing his conviction of animal cruelty to the state Superior Court. The newspaper reports 43-year-old Eric Hunter was found guilty on 22 felony cruelty to animal charges in May and sentenced to up to 11 years in state prison. The Daily Item reports Hunter’s attorney Greg Stuck, filed a motion claiming prosecutorial misconduct by District Attorney Michael O’Donnell. Stuck claims O’Donnell called Hunter and all of the defense witnesses liars to the jury. Police say Hunter and Heather Russin neglected 10 dogs and a cat at a Point Township home where the couple lived.
