11/21/22 WKOK Sunrise: Dr. Jeffrey Mann, Professor of Religion, Susquehanna University, on how we teach history, gratitude, oppression in the US, and Thanksgiving
/

Jeffrey Mann, Ph.D., Professor of Religious Studies, Program Director of GO Philippines, Department Head of Religious Studies, Susquehanna University, helps us open Thanksgiving week with a look at gratitude. Using his recent article (see below) on gratitude as a springboard, we’ll look at how history is taught in the US, how this version of history rewrites our story as a country and may not focus on us getting better and better over time, and for whom should we be grateful for our current lives. He’ll focus on gratitude, the mental and physical benefits of gratitude, the importance of gratitude in the religions, how important it is to humans thriving, and whether we are fostering it, or discouraging it.
