One Arrested on I-80 for ‘Bulk’ Transport of Illegal Drugs

DANVILLE — NorthcentralPA.com is reporting… State police arrested an Ohio woman after they found narcotics, paraphernalia, and a weapon during a traffic stop on Interstate 80 eastbound in Liberty Township, Montour County. Troopers say, around 11am, September 22, they stopped a car for a traffic violation. They say the driver then fled the scene on foot, while the passenger, 27-year-old Denisse Martinez, 27, of Lima, Ohio, attempted to walk away.

State police say they found a bulk amount of narcotics, a weapon, and drug paraphernalia. Martinez was taken into custody and charged with felonies of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, firearms not to be carried without a license, and misdemeanor charges of possession. Martinez was committed to Columbia County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set for Oct. 3 at the office of District Judge William Wilt III. Troopers say a warrant has been issued for the driver.
