Northumberland Declares Snow Emergency Ahead Of Storm

NORTHUMBERLAND — Northumberland has declared a snow emergency in anticipation of the approaching winter storm. Borough officials said the emergency declaration was issued to allow safe travel and effective snow removal on streets and alleys.

Under borough ordinance, residents are required to remove vehicles from streets when the emergency begins. Officials also warned residents not to shovel snow into roadways, to clear sidewalks within 24 hours after snowfall ends, and to keep fire hydrants and storm drains clear.

 

Snow Emergency Declared In McClure Borough

MCCLURE BOROUGH — McClure Borough declared a snow emergency starting at midnight Saturday due to hazardous winter weather.  Officials say Specht Street and Brown Street are snow emergency routes with no parking allowed. Vehicles may be ticketed or towed. Residents are urged to limit travel and clear streets for plows.
