No Injuries After Man Hits Two Utility Poles on Route 254

TURBOT TOWNSHIP, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY – A Northampton County man came away without injury after hitting two utility poles during a three-vehicle crash on Route 254.

Milton state police say the crash occurred at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday in Turbot Township, Northumberland County, which shut the roadway down for a few hours.

Milton troopers say 61-year-old Donald Hengst was driving east on Route 254 and following another vehicle too closely. Troopers say that vehicle stopped to turn left, and Hengst tried to serve to avoid hitting the vehicle. That’s when Hengst hit the vehicle, then continued off the roadway and hit two utility poles.

Troopers say another vehicle was driving behind Hengst and struck wires from the two utility poles.

Troopers say the other two drivers involved were also not injured.
