Mobile Home Destroyed by Brush Fire

DANVILLE — A brush fire Thursday afternoon in Rush Township, Northumberland County spread to a structure causing extensive damage. The call first came in around 2:15 for the brush fire on Gravel lane. When Southside Fire Company chief Jon Stassel arrived on scene he began calling for additional units as the fire was spreading quickly and then spread to a mobile home. Firefighters from Southside, East End, Overlook, Elysburg, Continental and Goodwill in Danville all responded and were on scene for about 2 hours. No word yet on what started the brush fire but officials said that the mobile home was a loss.
