Storms Knock Out Power, Delay School, Close Roads, Idle Rest Stop

MILLVILLE — Strong thunderstorms swept over parts of Columbia County this week, knocking out power, closing local roads and idling the I-80 rest stop in that region.  PPL reported over 2,000 outages after the storms, and more than 800 were still without power this morning.

PennDOT reported Rohrsburg Road and other local roads were closed. Most have since reopened.  The Millville School District was delayed due to the power outages.  The rest areas along I-80 in Columbia County were closed and are now open.  Columbia/Montour 9-1-1 reported the communities most impacted were in Millville and Berwick regions.
