Fired Danville Middle School Coach Files Sex Discrimination Complaint

DANVILLE – An attorney for a fired Danville Middle School Cross Country Coach has filed sex discrimination complaints against the Danville school board. The complaint specifically names two board members – President Chris Huron and board member Kyle Gordon, along with an administrator – Chris Johns.

According to The Daily Item, a Harrisburg attorney filed the suit on behalf of Tina Bartholomew, they report the board terminated Bartholomew at its September 28 meeting without identifying her or a reason. Three parents and two of Bartholomew’s daughters have indicated the firing was over claims she released confidential coaching surveys students had answered.

She remains a district Spanish teacher and high school girls track and field coach and has been heavily defended by parents. The district has denied the allegations through its Altoona attorney.
