Evan Council Takes Number Two Spot in National Health Equity Award

LEWISBURG – Evangelical Community Hospital is proud of a second-place finish in a national program.

The hospital announced Monday, they are runner-up in the national Health Quality Innovator program for 2023, they were recognized for the work of an advisory council that has helped guide and push the hospital forward.

Evan says their Patient and Family Advisory Council was recognized by HQI, the Health Quality Innovators program. The Council had a hand in helping Evangelical’s expansion project including patient room functionality and comfort, the extensive use of Mobile Health of Evangelical, and helping advance the hospital’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.

Dr. John Devine, vice president of medical affairs at the hospital said the council has improved healthcare for everyone and helped the hospital ‘address where we could do even better.  The council consists of current and former patients, their families, friends, and caregivers. The recognition specifically is the Health Equity category.
