Early Dismissals Due to Threat of Flooding Issues

Some area schools are dismissing early Wednesday due to possible flooding issues.

Selinsgrove Area School District dismissing two hours early Wednesday.

Penn View Christian Academy in Penns Creek will be dismissing at Noon Wednesday.

Jersey Shore Area School District is dismissing two hours early.

Mifflinburg Area School District is dismissing the high school and middle school at Noon. The elementary and intermediate school will dismiss at 1. If any busses are unable to reach students homes, those students will be brought back to the school and parents will be contacted to make arrangements to pick their child up.

Midd West will be dismissing all schools at 12:30 pm.

The National Weather Service River Forecast Center in State College says Penns Creek will crest slightly above flood stage today, leaving that area with minor flooding. The Susquehanna River West Branch is expected to crest at Jersey Shore near 22 feet during the day Thursday. Flood stage in that area is 26 feet. Streams and tributaries in that area will rise throughout the day Wednesday.
