DANVILLE – All buildings in the Danville Area School District were briefly evacuated Wednesday morning after a ‘vague threat’ was discovered at the high school. Superintendent Molly Nied said in a statement to parents later Wednesday the district decided to evacuate all buildings ‘due to a tight timeframe and out of an abundance of caution.’ She says students evacuated ‘in the form of a fire drill.’
Nied says a sweep was then conducted by administration and security before students returned to the high school. She says a preliminary investigation found the threat was ‘non-credible,’ but will be fully investigated.
