Beavertown home destroyed by fire


BEAVERTOWN – A Beavertown home is destroyed and three people are homeless after a fire Tuesday afternoon. Snyder County Communications tells WKOK the fire occurred at 503 Reservoir Road around 3:15 p.m.


The Daily Item reports the fire spread quickly through the house, completely destroying everything inside. Two cats were also rescued. The hallway roof also collapsed, but the overall house structure is still in place.


Beavertown Fire Chief Cole Kratzer told the paper crews believe the fire began in a bedroom, but the exact cause is still unknown. He says it took about 40 minutes for crews to extinguish the blaze. County communications tells us Beavertown Fire Department, and fire and rescue personnel from Bannerville, Beaver Springs, Penns Creek and Middleburg responded.
