Annual Toys for Tots Drive Set on North Shore Rail Line

NORTHUMBERLAND – The annual toy drive on the North Shore Rail Line is set for this Saturday.

Organizers say it’s the 21st Annual Toys for Tots Drive, hosted by North American Railcar Operators Association.

The rail enthusiasts will be in the speeders rail cars and will travel the North Shore Railroad line, collecting new, unwrapped toys for children in need. The speeders will journey from Northumberland through Danville, Bloomsburg, and Berwick, collecting toys.

The day kicks off at 8am in Northumberland, where State Senator Lynda Schlegel Culver will judge the best-decorated speeders. The route includes stops at the Danville Middle School at 9:15 a.m., Rupert at 10:00 a.m., Bloomsburg at 10:30 a.m., and Berwick at 11:45 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to check the schedule, as times may vary due to weather or mechanical issues. For details, visit North Shore Railroad’s website.
