ATLANTA – COVID spread is waning across the Valley and in Pennsylvania.
The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta said on its website Friday, all Valley counties – Union, Snyder, Northumberland and Montour – are all listed in the ‘medium’ category for the spread of the virus. It’s the first time Montour County has been out of the ‘high’ category in two months.
Overall, the CDC notes, there are no Pennsylvania counties with ‘high’ community spread. Including all Valley counties, there are just 12 counties with ‘medium’ spread. That means 55 counties are listed in the ‘low’ category.
The state Department of Health reported in its weekly update Wednesday the new set of daily cases from the past week dropped for the sixth consecutive week, with 2,600 fewer cases reported this week.
