PennDOT Pushes Transportation Funding, PSP Solution

HARRISBURG – PennDOT is pushing their proposal to provide more funding for road and bridge projects.  PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll says ending Motor License Fund transfers to the Pennsylvania State Police makes sense.

Carroll says PennDOT has a “laundry list” of projects that need to be done sooner rather than later. The governor is calling for creation of a new Public Safety and Protection Fund to fund the State Police. He says phasing out a total of 500 million dollars currently transferred from the Motor License Fund to the Pennsylvania State Police over five years will generate 1.5 billion dollars for road and bride repairs.
