Pennsylvania State Troopers Hosting ‘Citizen’s Police Academy’

Citizen’s Police Academy Coming Up

SELINSGROVE – Valley residents will have the opportunity for a six-week look inside the world of law enforcement this spring. The Pennsylvania State Police are hosting a Citizens’’ Police Academy from March 28-May 2. Sessions will be held Tuesday evenings from 6-8:30 p.m. at the DH&L Fire Company Building in Selinsgrove.

Troopers say participants will receive instruction and hands-on learning involving multiple police procedures and techniques. They’ll also learn about a range of topics including use of force, forensics, DUI enforcement and more. Lessons will be taught by troopers, local police departments, FBI and the Snyder County District Attorney’s office.

Troopers say participants must be 18 years of age or older, have no criminal history, and must be able to attend at least five of the six sessions to graduate. Participants must also register by submitting an application postmarked no later than March 20.
