HARRISBURG – Outdoor enthusiasts in Pennsylvania are being asked to choose from four nominees for 2023 Pennsylvania River of the Year.
This year’s nominees are the Conestoga River, Perkiomen Creek, Schuylkill River, and the North Branch of the Susquehanna River.
Cindy Adams-Dunn, Secretary of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, says this award has been presented annually since 1983, including this year’s choice of French Creek in northwestern PA.
Nominations were based on each waterway’s conservation needs and successes. The organization nominating the winner will receive a 10 thousand-dollar leadership grant. Online voting got underway this week and runs through January 14th, at www.pawatersheds.org.
