Cookin’ Men is Back for Paint The Valley Pink
MIFFLINBURG – One of the highlights of Paint The Valley Pink is back with some new additions. The annual ‘Cookin’ Men’ event is scheduled for Thursday, October 27 at Rusty Rail Brewing Company in Mifflinburg.
Donna Schuck is the Associate Vice President of Philanthropy and Donor Relations at Evangelical Community Hospital. She says there are 21 chefs or chef teams ready to cook up good dishes and raise money for the Thyra M. Humphreys Center for Breast Health.
“Each one of them will prepare their own special dish and all of the attendees get to taste the dish. The chefs then compete in several different contests, so the main contest is The Top Chef and that is the top fundraising chef,” she said.
As always, you can purchase tickets or cast your favorite chef votes at evanhospital.com/cookinmen.
There’s not only Cookin’ Men…there’s also Cookin’ Women. Drew Kelly is the Communications Manager at The Miller Center is again one of this year’s chefs, “We’re excited to have them you’ll see some familiar faces there like Kindy Alvarez from Lewisburg and Nikki Krize from Channel 16.”
In addition, Schuck says this year’s proceeds will benefit the Thyra M. Humphreys Center in a different way, “All of the proceeds go to imaging studies for women and patients who are under and uninsured. We found we have patients who are unable to afford the cost of their care, so the proceeds from this event can help with additional studies as well.”
Attendees can also opt for a VIP experience with a reception at Rusty Rail’s Game Room from 5:30-6:30 and 8-9:30 p.m., and will include a pairing menu prepared by Rusty Rail with tasting. Only 100 VIP tickets are available for an addition $25, with event tickets $50. Tickets can be purchased beginning this Friday and are limited to 350 tickets.
