NORTHUMBERLAND – A detour continues for those driving through Northumberland this week as the $13.7 million Duke Street project continues. The contractor will work during daylight hours on Duke Street constructing new inlets and installing sewer lines and a new manhole.
For the detour, motorists traveling north on Duke Street will use Duke Street to Front Street to Queen Street to Second Street and then to King Street to Fifth Street and back to Duke Street.
For those going south, use Fourth Street to Queen Street to Second Street and back to Duke Street. Parking is prohibited on the detour route in the direction of travel.
Crews will also be excavating and constructing new curbing and ADA curb ramps on Front Street. Parking is restricted there as well.
