NORTHUMBERLAND – Northumberland County Commissioner Sam Schiccatano will be completing his first four-year term at the end of 2019, but before then he must make the choice whether to run for a second term or not.
Commissioner Schiccatano tries to answer the question on deciding to run again, “No I haven’t, not yet. I think what I hear in the next couple of weeks from the people, if people would like me to run again, I would do that, if my wife approves and my family. I’ll make that decision when I feel it’s the right time to make it.”
Schiccatano says this position is a lot of work and a lot of pressure, but he says every decision he makes gets a lot of thought and research, “People can question what I do, but people don’t know the time and the research I put in to do it. It’s easy to sit out there and make a comment in the paper. Come and see me before you make the comment and let me explain why things were done, because it’s a lot more involved than people think.”
The election for Northumberland County Commissioner will be November of 2019. Already, Commissioner Rich Shoch has announced he is not running. Kymberley Best has not yet announced if she is running. Several other candidates are running in 2019, including former commissioner Vinny Clausi.
