SUNBURY – Some Valley residents can now receive their groceries delivered right at their front door. After launching it earlier this month, Weis Markets is expanding online grocery delivery with the company called Shipt to more than a dozen new markets, including the Valley. Deliveries start today.
Weis Markets spokesman Dennis Curtain tells us Valley stores offering home delivery are Danville, Lewisburg, Selinsgrove, Shamokin, and Sunbury. Customers who are within 20 miles of those stores are eligible to use this service. Once ordered, customers can expect deliveries in as soon as an hour.
Customers will be able to order through the Weis website or Shipt mobile app. For an annual subscription of $99, customers can get free, unlimited delivery on orders of more than $35. Orders under $35 will also be charged with a $7 delivery fee.
Weis kicked off its partnership with Shipt September 6, when same-day delivery got under way in various metropolitan markets.
