Weis accomdating SNAP recipients during government shutdown

SUNBURY – Weis Market customers who use SNAP benefits, formerly known as Food Stamps, are being accommodated as the partial federal government shutdown continues. Weis says it is accelerating store shipments of high-demand items purchased by people who use SNAP benefits.

Due to the shutdown, SNAP recipients in its seven-state market area are receiving their benefits starting Thursday. Weis Markets operates stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, and West Virginia.
