Synthetic marijuana bust in Snyder County

arrest FEATSHAMOKIN DAM – A police investigation in Shamokin Dam led to the arrest of a man for dealing drugs from a motel room. Shamokin Dam police say they received a tip about suspicious activity and possible drug dealing at the Golden Arrow Motel. Police identified 18-year-old Dylan Houseknecht as a suspect and found an open bench warrant against him from Union County for a probation violation.

Officers observed Houseknecht and another man standing by a car in the parking lot of the motel around 3 p.m. Thursday. They took Houseknecht into custody and searched the room where he was staying. Inside, they found 108 grams of suspected synthetic marijuana, or ‘Spice.’

Another man, who was in the parking lot at the same time, was found to have drug paraphernalia in his possession. Charges are pending against him, according to police.

Shamokin Dam police say they will file charges against Houseknecht including felony possession with intent to deliver. He is currently being held by Union County on the probation violation.
