I-80 wreck kills Sunbury woman
DANVILLE – A Sunbury woman has died from her injuries after a crash on I-80 in Clinton County Monday. 49-year-old Melanie Holub was pronounced dead around 5:20 p.m. Tuesday at Geisinger. Lamar state police tell us the crash occurred just before 11 a.m. Monday, in the area of mile marker 174.
Lamar troopers tell us Holub’s vehicle went off the left side of the roadway while changing lanes and lost control. Holub’s vehicle hit a guide rail, rolled over, and went down an embankment. Troopers say she was also ejected from the vehicle and not wearing a seatbelt.
Holub was then flow to Geisinger via Life Flight, where she later died. Nittany Valley Fire Department, Lamar Township Fire Department, Goodwill Ambulance and PennDOT assisted troopers at the scene.
