SELINSGROVE – A Suquehanna University student died unexpectedly Wednesday. Emma Cook, a sophomore from Merrimack, New Hampshire, died earlier today.

Angela Burrows, chief communications officer at Susquehanna says Cook’s death is not suspicious and is not drug related. She adds that there is no cause for concern about the safety of other students.

Cook was a resident assistant in Reed Hall and was involved with WQSU radio, Womenspeak and the Gender and Sexuality Alliance.  An informal gathering will take place on campus at noon today for friends to share memories and provide support to one another. Counselors are available in the Benjamin Apple Meeting Rooms for students and staff. (Jennifer Wakeman/Ali Stevens)
