AG: Former Bloomsburg Mayor pleads no contest to prostitution

HARRISBURG – A former mayor and constable in Bloomsburg has agreed to a plea deal on prostitution charges.

The state attorney general’s office handled the case and said 36-year-old Eric Bower of Bloomsburg on Wednesday pleaded no contest to charges of patronizing prostitutes, he was sentenced to one year’s probation and ordered to pay court costs and a $500 fine. He was ordered to undergo counseling and to turn over his firearm in connection with prior duties as town constable.

Bower was charged in April after he solicited sex from a state police confidential informant with whom Bower had previously paid for sex on multiple occasions.   Bower resigned as mayor and town constable in May.
