Southern Columbia football ready for national season opener


CATAWISSA – The Southern Columbia football team is gearing up to start its season on the national stage this Sunday. The Tigers are on their way to South Carolina to take on Hammond High School Sunday at 2 p.m.


The game will be televised on ESPN2 as part of ESPN’s high school kickoff weekend.   Last season, the Tigers won an unprecedented ninth state championship over Wilmington. It was the second straight state title, and the program’s third state title in the last four years.
